1. What’s the one thing about you that your business colleagues don’t know about you?
I’m skilled at upholstery.

2. Before the pandemic, how many air miles/KMs did you flying annually?
I’m not exactly sure how many miles I travelled in a year but I was top tier in my airline’s frequent flyer program.

3. What is the most adventurous food you have eaten and what city/location did you eat it?
I love food and traveling. In countries where I don’t speak or read the language, I’ve tried pointing to dishes, on tables nearby, and have ended up with some beautiful meals that, to this day, remain a mystery. But I do recall unintentionally eating horse in France.

Your Career

4. What are the top two experiences, achievements or failures that shaped your journey as a successful leader?
I think the two experiences that have shaped my career the most have been my experience leading global or regional teams and in leading different functions within the technology industry. This exposure keeps my perspective fresh and my mind open to new ideas. Being curious and open to change and leading a team through change are the hallmarks of longevity in a career. I am passionate to lead teams of people and encourage everyone to be proud of the unique value they can contribute to the group.

5. Did you have a mentor in the early part of your career and, if so, what is the biggest lesson you learned from your mentor or influencer?
I was lucky enough to have mentors in the early part of my career and their advice can be distilled to - recognizing, developing and recruiting talent in building a team is what makes an individual a successful leader.

6. What is one piece of business or career advice you would give to your younger self?
Always have a growth mindset and look for moments that can teach you something new everyday.

7. As a leader, how do you remain a resource for people early in their careers?
I’m a big believer in reverse mentoring. I find I learn as much from those early in their career, as they do from my experience.

Today’s Business Environment

8. What is the most interesting project you have worked on in the last few years?
Working with ServiceNow’s ecosystem of partners to help roll out free ServiceNow apps in 2020 to help all companies navigate challenges due to COVID-19 – started with emergency response and quickly followed with Safe Workplace suite of apps for employees. ServiceNow is also supporting the biggest workflow challenge of our lifetime – to convert vaccines into vaccinations.

9. What skills are you currently developing or refining (in yourself) that will make you a more successful leader in the digital economy?
Constantly reminding myself to stay curious and to embrace the need to move with speed and agility.

10. What is your greatest business challenge today?
Helping my team, our partners and our customers remain socially connected but physically distant (and safe) in our new post pandemic world.
